NDDC COMMITS TO BUILDING A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR THE NIGERIAN CHILD

Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says  the Commission is committed to building a bright future for the Nigeria  Child.

Dr. Ogbuku who was represented  by Deputy Director, Social Services, Mrs. Chioma Nwakue during Children’s Day celebration in Port Harcourt Rivers State, maintained that the commission  remained intentional  about inclusiveness for every child, despite their challenges, social status and environment.

He stated that the commission aligned with the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda on Education, which centers on promoting Education, Healthcare and social protection.

Speaking on Intentionally Building a Career Part, a career Counselor, Mrs. Boma Marcus told the children to be intentional about their education and avoid distractions in their career parts.

Mrs. Marcus noted that some of the challenges facing career development were lack of exposure, pressure from parents, fear of failure and lack of confidence.

She insisted that  being visionary and learning the required skills would bring to reality the dreamed future.

Two of the children, God’s Favour Nwobueze and Rema Paul while appreciating NDDC for the gesture, admitted that it was impactful.

The event also featured games and recitation by children from different schools.

The theme of the celebration this year is The Future Now, promoting inclusion for every Nigerian Child.
